Les Fourberies de Scapin, by Molière Directed by Elmo Nüganen Stage by Ivars Noviks Tallinn City Theatre 2011
It is always a pleasure to work with young actors, the graduates of Elmo Nüganen's class at the Estonian Academy of Theatre and Music, most of whom new members of the City Theatre's troupe. And Scapin certainly offers a lot of possibilities to fool around. The stage was set in the traditional space for summer projects (same as The Raven), but this time Elmo Nüganen created a pool in its middle. A challenge for me - the costumes had to to be such that the show could be performed daily, the actors would not get pneumonia and that everything would stay fresh in spite of such intensive use!
