When I was asked to do this, I immediately said yes. We lived in troubled times, and the absurdly cruel world in which the two protagonists of Ionesco's play find themselves makes frightening sense… This is performed in the black box, with seating for less than a hundred spectators, which brings both the living room of the couple and its imminent destruction uncomfortably close to even the last rows.
