I have never seen a good stage production of The Little Prince, even though there have been many. This is why I was very reluctant to take this material up, but finally had to give in. The story is so intimate, so fragile and so very personal to everyone who likes the book, that it is almost impossible to capture its mood without spoiling it. In our interpretation, the Little Prince is the imaginary friend from Tonio's childhood, who reappears from the depth of his muddled consciousness after the plane crash in the desert. Someone to give him the strength needed to get himself out of the impossible situation. Someone to provide him with a reason to live on - and to reexamine everything that people believe in.
